High Pressure Tank will be settled by the end of fiscal year 2001 to conduct experimental simulation of CO2 ocean sequestration etc. This facility belongs to Marine Environmental Experimental Shop of NMRI and is aimed to contribute to studies on marine environmental protection and ocean engineering. The facility will be utilized from fiscal year 2002.
The measures of the high pressure tank are 1.1m of inner diameter, 3.0 m of inner height and 2.8 m3 of inner volume, and its maximum pressure is 60 Pa (limited to 40 MPa for compressed gases). Inside of the tank, a supporting rod is settled to fit six monitor cameras etc. CO2 injection tube is removable for experiments without CO2 injection or placement of other equipments. Moreover, cable holes are provided on the tank and the cover for power supply or signal cables.
