ICE THICKNESS DATABASE

1. INTRODUCTION

Ship Research Institute has conducted a collaboration research Project with the Japan Maritime Safety Agency and full-scale trials of "PLH SOYA" and "PLH TESHIO" have been carried out since 1991. The objectives of the research are 1) to establish the database of sea ice conditions, and 2) to evaluate ship manoeuvrability in ice. This database is a part of the research result.
