Research Cooperation With CEDRE

On September 30, 1999, the NMRI concluded a memorandum of understanding on research cooperation for the prevention of marine pollution with CEDRE (Centre de documentation de recherche et d’experimentations sur les pollutions accidentelles des eaux) located in Brest, France. Based on this agreement, the two organizations held seminars on measures against accidental discharges of petroleum and harmful liquid cargos at Brest July in 2000 and at Mitaka October in 2001, respectively. CEDRE and NMRI began joint research on oil spill monitoring methods and other research topics in 2003.
