The Japan Society of Naval Architects and Ocean Engineers and The Royal Institution of Naval Architects are for the first time organizing the International Symposium on Shipbuilding Technology (ISST2007). The theme of ISST2007 will be fabrication and coatings.

Introduction: There is a demand for thicker and more durable primer coatings to be applied to steel plates prior to initial fabrication of ships to reduce the cost of coating larger ships. Anti-corrosive technology in ballast tanks must respond to environmental demands to prohibit the use of tar and reduce the use of volatile organic compounds (VOC). Fabrication must utilize more efficient methods and the use of new materials. ISST2007 will provide an opportunity for all those concerned with this important and key area of shipbuilding to present and discuss the latest developments in these and other aspects of fabrication and coatings.

Following hotel is recommended. Frequent public bus service, as well as Taxis, is available to go to the conference venue. The presenters and attendances are recommended to make hotel reservation by themselves through internet as soon as possible.

Lunch on September 7th is included in the conference fee.

Welcome Reception and Dinner

The registered presenters and attendances are invited to welcome reception and dinner at 7 p.m. on September 6, 2007 at Senri Hankyu Hotel (2-1 D-1 Shinsenri Higashimachi, Toyonaka City, Osaka), where people may stay during the conference period.

Conference Fee

Full registration fee 25,000 JPY

Reduced fee for one speaker per one paper 15,000 JPY

Student 5,000 JPY

Registration after August 20: 30,000 JPY at the conference

This includes: two days' attendance, a proceeding book, a CD of presentation papers (This will be delivered after the conference by post.), refreshments and lunches each day, conference reception and dinner.

The conference fee must be payable by Credit Card shown in the submitted registration form.

On-sight registration will be accepted only by cash as follows:

Full on-sight registration fee 30,000 JPY

(For those who make on-sight registration may not receive the proceeding at the conference.)
