| Development Diary of the Model Wheelchair November 2001, Koichi Hirata and Yasuhiro Makita 
June 4, 2001 
We start to consider a basic structure. The model uses two D/C motors, and several gears with about 1/100 reduced ratio.
June 6, 2001 
The model on a scale of 1/3, and diameter of rear tires is 200mm. We decided the size of gears and location of the motors and the gears approximately.
June 22, 2001 Plans have almost been completed. Mechanical parts and R/C parts were prepared. Then, we start to make the model wheelchair. 
 
Alminum boards are cutting. Front wheels (caster) are completed.June 28, 2001 
The model wheelchair is almost completed. It can run with a R/C system.June 29, 2001 
A doll is riding the wheelchair.July 2, 2001 
We are considering the structure of brake mechanisms for the model wheelchair.August 29, 2001 
We decided the structure of brake mechanism.October 22, 2001 
The brake mechanism is completed. And we made a simple microcomputer circuit.
October 30, 2001 
Mr. Makita is adjusting the brake mechanism.
December 19, 2001 
We are reforming the model wheelchair with considerations of good handling in experiments. The photograph shows the switches for driving power.
