CONTRIBUTION TO INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS
Regulations and standards for safety and environmental protection on the sea have been conducted internationally through discussions in global conferences such as the International Marine Organization (IMO) and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
Strategic involvement for a formation of these international rules is much significant creating for a Japanese maritime policy and the industry. NMRI positively contributes various activities supporting for governmental actions, such as investigation, research, documentations, and resources for international conferences, performing the role of chairs and secretaries. In addition, NMRI holds and organizes international committees which are related to the institution.
