10 Mode Test at Sea

10 MODE TEST AT SEA

10 Mode Test at Sea is performed at short waves (wavelength is about 1/2 or less of the captain's) where calculation accuracy is important. At short waves, there is almost no hull motion, so the test can be performed after the normal resistance test in still water is performed, using conventional test equipment. In addition, the time required for the exam is about 3 hours.

The speed effect and speed effect coefficient are obtained from 10 Mode Test at Sea, and this is used to calculate the added resistance in regular waves.
