GHG Reduction Project Team

The revised IMO GHG reduction strategy, adopted at the 80th Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC80) meeting in July 2023, set a new goal for international shipping. It includes an enhanced common ambition to reach net-zero GHG emissions from international shipping close to 2050. Aiming to contribute to achieving carbon neutrality in international and domestic shipping, our project team conducts research on developing energy-saving ship designs, engine technologies with alternative fuels and their safe use, as well as estimating total GHG emissions based on demand forecasts for maritime logistics.
